To Travel.
Travel vb (travelling, travelled or traveling, traveled) vi to journey or move from one place to another. *vt to journey across, through. *n journey.
I think, I’ve always wanted to travel.
Been doing it since I was probably 2? As a family of five, we went abroad ever summer. The odd year, I remember going to India with my mum and brother; or Florida with close friends. Or even just 91 miles (146.42km) North to see friends. It’s all travelling.
I live around a twenty minute drive from London Heathrow (the world’s third busiest airport, by passenger traffic); so I’m used to the sound of planes, coaches, buses, cars. All means of transport.
Recently, the planes have been cut, due to that beautiful volcano explosion in Iceland.
Each place, I feel, has a secret. No matter, how many times you go, you learn something new.
I don’t know what thrills me about travelling. The stomach churning as you land and take off? The way the air smacks you in the face when you land and get off the plane? Seeing the world from above, kind of? Experiencing a new culture and slightly picking up on a new language? Weather change? Scenery change?
I guess, I could go on and on.
I think, my dad has inspired me to travel. We never talk about it, it just happens. He often goes away by himself. Sometimes, I do sit there and think “Will I travel alone when I’m older?”
There are many advantages and disadvantages of this.
I guess I could write a lot on travelling. I feel I’m passionate for it.
Sometimes, I shiver, and think “What would the world be, without travelling?”
